Nemasu Ecolodge, Gambia
Nemasu is nestled in an idyllic slice of coastal forest, looking towards a pristine beach and the vast Atlantic Ocean. “Nemasu”, in the native Mandinka language, means “Sacred Placeā. At Nemasu, we strive to help you feel relaxed, inspired and nurtured. From our spectacular beach, to our cozy beds, to the fresh local fish and vegetables in our restaurant, you can’t find a better place to unwind and learn about African culture and lifestyle. We’re encircled by beauty, but we don’t take it for granted. Our goal is to be as self-sustaining as possible: we are developing organic farming, using solar panels to generate electricity, warm our water with solar, recycle our trash & food, and use modern septic systems. Even our buildings are mostly built from natural materials found locally.
